We’vedonealotofstop-motionanimationatconferences,butit’sprettytoughtomakepixilationinacrowdedroom.ThenIhelpedoutwithanawesomefilmmakingcampthissummer, OMGCamerasEverywhere,wheretheydidasimilarprojectusingaladder.SowhenwesawthebalconyabovetheBeauxArtsCourtattheBrooklynMuseum,itdawnedonusthatwecouldactuallycreateaMASSIVEcamerastandatTEDYouth,andtakethepixilationtothefloor. Theme:“Astreetsceneinthefuture” TopreparefortheTEDYouthanimationworkshops,FranzandImadeashoppinglistthatincludedAstroTurf,plasticdinosaurs,andgemstones,whichreallymademesmile.Andwiththat,IsetoutonacrazyadventureofpurchasingPolyFill,scrapfabric,boasandstreamers,allinmyneighborhoodcraft99-centstore.Whilelocalestablishmentshadasurprisingnumberofthingsonmylist,Inotedafewthingsthatitdidn’treallymakesenseforustobuy.Luckily,TED-Edishometoafewhoarders. WealsogotthewholeteamtoscroungeupcostumesofHalloweenspast.
