Untilnow,theISO7061standardfrom1993haspartlyservedasareferencedocumentbyindustryforoffshoregangwayapplicationsdespiteonlyaddressingship-to-shoretransfers.NexttotheISO07061,offshoregangwaysarealsocertifiedagainstman-ridingcranestandards.Thelimitedrelevanceandlackofoffshorespecificrequirementshasdriventhedevelopmentforadedicatedoffshoregangwaystandardprovidingin-depthandspecificguidelinesonoffshoregangwayoperation,thecompanysaid. Thepublicationofthe industryguidanceisaresultofaDNVGL-ledjointindustryW2W(“walk-to-work”)projectfrom2013,examiningoffshoregangwaytransferoperations.
